2025 Annual Convening Speakers

Shauna L. Howard is a soprano, voice educator, and endurance athlete based in Los Angeles. She is the founder of First Instrument, a sacred voice studio dedicated to coaching singers, vocalists, and musicians through the integration of social-emotional learning, anti-racism, music therapy principles, and positive psychology. With over 15 years of experience as a section leader in Episcopal churches and as a faculty member at Musicians Institute, Shauna’s teaching blends rigorous vocal pedagogy with holistic care practices that center belonging, resilience, and joy.

Her work extends beyond the studio through Creative Alchemy Alliance (CAA), a holding company for her multi-hyphenate projects, including CycleBae (a cycling and wellness brand) and Fierce Stitch (a fiber arts and makers brand). Across all her ventures, Shauna creates frameworks, tools, and experiences that support creative entrepreneurs and artists in aligning their voice, body, and spirit.

She is currently developing publications such as The Singer’s Soul Journal, as well as offerings like the Sacred Voice JournalTM and the Sacred Voice Tea CollectionTM, designed to nourish her student’s voices while fostering community care and creative healing.

Shauna’s session, The Sacred Voice JournalTM Mini-Retreat, invites participants into a reflective, restorative space where journaling, affirmations, and intentional voice practices become pathways toward creative liberation and communal joy.
